Tim Wang, an expert in communication antennas and president of Chinmore Industry, said in an interview that health and safety are two compelling reasons why a car owner should use a cell phone antenna for communication inside the car. Chinmore is one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers and exporters of communication antennas.
'First, with an antenna placed on the outside of the car, the cell phone can receive or send the signals more clearly, thus enabling a better communication and providing safer driving conditions. Second, by receiving and sending the signals away from the cell phone user's head, the user is able to keep away from the strong electromagnetic emission generated during the communication, which can interfere with the electronic circuit of the car, such as that in the car computer and ABS, and damage the user's health over the long run,' said Wang.
Using a cell phone in a car can cause serious health concern because a car is an enclosed environment, which worsens the damage caused by the electromagnetic emission, said Wang, adding that there are reports linking frequent use of mobile phones to increased risk of brain tumor.
'Typically, one end of the cable is connected to the cell phone, and the other is connected to the antenna,' Wang said. He noted that due to the fact that the sizes and shapes of cell phone connectors vary from brand to brand and from model to model, they keep a close watch on every new mainstream cell phone in the market to make sure that they make at least one cable to match each new cell phone model.'
Wang said they make different sizes of magnetic mount antennas and inside-on-glass cell phone antennas for in-car use to meet different customers' needs.
Besides the traditional GSM cell phone antennas and cables for in-car use, Chinmore also makes many other antennas for different applications, including the GPS/GMS combo and the GPS/GSM/Wi-Fi combo, both of which are usually used for security application, as well as antennas for GSM, CDMA, 433, RFID, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and WiMAX. In addition, Chinmore also makes plug-in savers/chargers, portable hands free kits, travel/chargers and other accessories.
Established in 1988, Chinmore now has its main office and factory in Taipei, Taiwan and a branch factory in Dongguan, China. According to Wang, his factories have the ability to offer full-speed support to their worldwide OEM/ODM clients.
On the Chinmore's business philosophy, Wang said, 'We are highly aware of the dynamic changes of the market trends and demands. Therefore, we provide standardized ISO 9001 quality products, very competitive price and excellent service. All of our products are tested at each pre-production and post-production stage by our quality control staff using precise analyzer machines.'
