Liantec Systems Corporation announces the TBM-1460 Tiny-Bus PCI Express based eSATA / SATA-II 3Gbit/s extension module. The TBM-1460, which is based on the embedded Tiny-Bus Extension Solution, and integrated with dual onboard Silicon Image x1 PCI Express based eSATA / SATA-II host controllers, offers 4 eSATA (External SATA) ports with 3Gbit/s of raw data transfer bandwidth.
The TBM-1460 supports optional 4 eSATA, or 3 eSATA with 5 SATA-II 3Gbit/s ports, and brings the server-class features of data storage to the industrial small form factor embedded computing applications that support the Tiny-Bus modular extension solution.
With the features of embedded Tiny-Bus Modular Extension Solution, the TMB-1460 Tiny-Bus PCIe eSATA / SATA-II extension module can be installed on any EmBoard with PCIe-based Tiny-Bus interface, and still meet the mechanical design of the same form factor.
External Serial ATA (eSATA) Interface
The TBM-1460 is integrated with dual Silicon Image x1 PCI Express based eSATA host controllers with four external SATA (eSATA) ports, and supports SATA-II 3Gbit/s of raw data transfer bandwidth, Native Command Queuing, port multipliers with FIS-based switching, programmable output signal swing strengths for longer external cables or extended backplanes, hot plugging, enclosure management and ATAPI device support.
With eSATA interfaces, the system integrators can easily link the main systems with the external data storage systems including eSATA-based mobile rack, external enclosure, external HDD, storage / HDD docking station, optical drive enclosure, disk array, and other storage subsystems.
Internal SATA-II 3Gbit/s Multiplier Interface
The TBM-1460 is integrated with the onboard Silicon Image SATA-II multiplier, links with the onboard PCI Express SATA-II controller, and offers 5 SATA-II 3Gbit/s ports with hardware level 0/1/10. The onboard SATA-II multiplier supports the same configuration and performance as an external storage subsystem, supports hot plug, Async Notification, PM aware hosts and non-PM aware, 5 SATA devices with 3Gbit/s of speed, and hardware RAID level 0, 1, 10 (0+1) as well as multi-partition RAID modes.
With the built-in SATA-II multiplier, the system integrators can build the systems with onboard SATA / SATA-II ports and the additional on-module 5 SATA-II 3Gbit/s ports with selectable RAID level 0, 1, 10 (0+1) mode, suitable for the x86-based file server, NAS, SAN, disk array, storage subsystems and other industrial storage computing applications.
