[COMUTEX TAIPEI] From TAIWAN with the Best & Brightest! TAITRA Shows It All at CES

The World's largest consumer electronics show, Int'l Consumer Electronics Show (CES), wrapped up in Las Vegas --- with a Taiwan touch after running from January 7th to 10th. The show featured exhibitors spanning 30 product categories from markets including audio, digital content creation and distribution, digital imaging, embedded technology, gaming (digital entertainment), high-performance audio & home theater, video, home networking, in-vehicle technology and wireless.

Taiwan's ICT industry played a major part in CES with its flag-carrier TAITRA Taiwan Pavilion taking center stage at the show. More than 400 exhibitors from Taiwan took part in CES including such leading Taiwan brands as Asus, Tatung, A-data and Dmedia; TAITRA's pavilion alone included 18 exhibitors, including such stars as AcBel Polytech and Lin Shiung who used 31 booths.

To help convey the message of Taiwan’s emerging IT industry, TAITRA staged its own International Press Conference and New Product Announcements that underscore COMPUTEX TAIPEI and TAITRONICS, Taiwan's two annual flagship shows.

It was at CES where TAITRA kicked off the show year by connecting with a massive global media scrum and tens of thousands of global buyers. Its International Press Conference at The Venetian Hotel on January 8, was led by TAITRA's Executive Vice President, Walter Yeh who introduced major ICT exhibits in Taiwan, chiefly AUTOTRONICS (April), COMPUTEX TAIPEI (June) and TAITRONICS (October). And after that show goers were treated to several new product announcements.

Taiwan's Contribution in ICT Widely Recognized
During his opening address at the conference, Walter Yeh emphasized Taiwan’s unsurpassed contribution to the world’s ICT industry. In addition speakers from five famous Taiwanese brands (A-Data, Asus, Mio, MSI and Thermaltake) used this moment to highlight their new products and to share their future plans.

Asus' Eee PC has swept the US market and was bestowed the Innovation Award at CES. More than 60 international journalists attended the press conference, including those from the US, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, India, Mexico, Spain, and Russia further understand the latest makers and products from Taiwan.

TAITRA Brands Taiwan around the World
Reports from MIC (Market Intelligence Center) indicate that 11 ICT products from Taiwan currently enjoy the world's largest market share; while another 5 products are ranked number 2. This tract record, according to MIC, is the perfect indicator of Taiwan's critical industry role.

As the year progresses TAITRA will build up its global promotions of Taiwan ICT tradeshows and brands. The outstanding success of TAITRA's international press conference at CES marks only the start of the year's promotions with the next campaign heading for CeBIT in Hannover, Germany in March.
