IDC's Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker Shipments Indicates PC Market Growth Continuously Boosted By Portable Adoption In EMEA As Growth In Asia/Pacific Slows
Worldwide PC shipments continued to grow at a healthy pace in the second quarter of 2008 (2Q08), according to IDC's Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker. Shipments were up 15.3% from a year ago ¡V slightly more than second quarter projections and first quarter growth of 14.9%. Solid growth in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region helped offset slower growth in Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APeJ). As the IDC report shows although the demand of the United States suffered from getting through economic pressures, Dell still continued its recovery with Dell continued its recovery with another quarter of double-digit growth.

Taiwan's Mobile Internet Subscribers Exceeded 12 Million in 2008 Q1
According to the market report of III-FIND (Institute for Information Industry -Focus on Internet News and Data), Taiwan's mobile Internet subscribers reached 12.46 million in Q1 2008, a dramatic growth of 620 thousands from 2007 4Q.? Report indicates that the main reason of the growth is the continuous increase in PHS and 3G data subscribers, and the subscriber amount of these two services have already exceeded 9 million, with 1.04 million subscribers growth from last quarter.? The III-FIND research team believes the report can fully indicates that the amount of local mobile Internet subscriber is now far exceed the subscriber amount of broadband network, and become the hottest networking option at present.
