It is out of questions that ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUSTeK) is leading the trend of mini-notebook PC products. Since the public announcement of its Eee PC in COMPUTEX 2007 during Intel's technical conference and available in the market in Q4 2007, Eee PC has penetrated the market within a very short period. The introduction of Eee PC has successfully stimulated the sell of NB in 2007 and leads the trend of low price mini-NB.
The first generation Eee PC adopts Linux operation system and SSD to cut down production cost, hence enable users to buy a mini-NB that equipped basic features with very low market price. Eee PC emphasizes on "Easy to Learn, Easy to Work and Easy to Play". Though the Company stresses on "Easy to Learn", however, to a certain extent, a majority of people are not familiar with the Linux OS. Moreover, most software that available in the market today are not compatible with the Linux OS. Therefore, some of ASUSTeK’s Eee PC models are not offering the Windows XP Home OS option, and of course, the SSD storage capacity of the recently models have also been enhanced.
