Early December the annual Windows® Hardware Engineering Conference 2008 (WinHEC 2008) started at the Taipei International Convention Center. More than 1,000 hardware engineers and experts from Taiwan are attending the two-day WinHEC, at which Microsoft announced the winner of WinHEC Juries Award to PocketCinema V10 from AIPTEK International Inc., the first ever award since WinHEC started 16 years ago. Vincent Siew, Vice President of the Republic of China, personally presented the top panel award as well as five separate categories of awards to winners. Microsoft provides its global marketing resources to help launch the winning entries to the global IT market.

Jon DeVaan. Senior Vice President, Windows Core Operating System Division, Microsoft, delivered a keynote speech on Advance Platform, sharing the latest status on the development of Windows 7 with IT partners in Taiwan and demonstrating Windows 7's performance in log-on/off speed, memory and power management, as well as multi-touch interface innovation.
